This three day, two night event comprising inspirational speakers, educative field based horsemanship experiences with Queensland’s coastal brumbies and of course, plenty of networking opportunities and reunions with fellow hoof care practitioners nationally and internationally.

Kenilworth is a small rural community around 40 minutes from Noosa, 45 minutes from Maroochydore Airport and one and a half hours from Brisbane. The town is on the Mary River which offers opportunities to swim, kayak and fish all year round. A few minutes drive and you can be in some of the prettiest national parks in Queensland which offer great walksand camping.
The Kenilworth Hall, Recreation Grounds , Swimming Pool and Oval are owned by the community. The facilities include powered camp sites for campers , ample toilet and shower facilities price per night $30 - 2 person, Extra person per night $6, Children under 14 FREE

Guest Speakers
Professor Christopher C. Pollitt. BVSc (Massey, NZ), PhD (The University of Queensland)
Emeritus Professor Pollitt received his primary and secondary schooling in Wollongong,
NSW, Melbourne, Vic, Que Que, Zimbabwe and Christchurch, New Zealand. After graduating BVSc from Massey University, he was a general veterinary practitioner in New Zealand, Victoria, Western Australia and Queensland and, after attaining his PhD, joined The University of Queensland Veterinary School as the lecturer in equine medicine in 1983.
He enthusiastically pursued a research career centred on the horse’s foot and, with the aim of making equine laminitis a preventable disease, created the Australian Equine Laminitis Research Unit in 1991. Chris was inducted into American Farriers International Hall of Fame in 1997 for his contributions to education on the horse’s foot and in 2006 he received the RIRDC-Vetsearch Equine Research Award as Equine Researcher of the year. In 2006 he received the Ian Clunies Ross award for outstanding contributions to veterinary science in Australia and New Zealand. In London, December 2006, he was made an Honorary Fellow of the Worshipful Company of Farriers. In 2018 Equine Veterinarians Australia awarded Chris their Award for Excellence in the Equine Veterinary Field and in 2019 the Australian Veterinary Association awarded him the Gilruth Award for meritorious service in the Veterinary Field. In 2023 The National Alliance of Equine Practitioners awarded Chris their Lifetime Achievement Award.
Professor Pollitt has supervised numerous PhDs and MPhils to completion and is an author on over 117 laminitis/foot biology scientific publications. He has authored 14 books and book chapters the latest being The Illustrated Horse’s Foot. St Louis, USA. ISBN:9780702046551. His peer-reviewed publications have been cited 2967 time (average citations per year = 60.49) with an average of 28 citations per paper published. Interestingly most of his publications and citations have occurred since official retirement in 2007.
Anna uhrig (The Brumby Project)
Anna is an ecologist and founder of The Brumby Project, an initiative dedicated to the management, rehoming, and celebration of Australia’s wild brumbies. Driven by her passion for horse training and community engagement, Anna has created immersive camps and clinics where people connect with brumbies, learn natural horsemanship, and build lifelong partnerships. Through her work, she brings together conservation awareness and hands-on education, giving brumbies a future beyond the wild while highlighting their value as versatile, loyal horses.
