WORKSHOP OUTLINE

Jacky and Sandy are extremely excited to offer a two day “Trim Your Horse” Workshop. The weekend will be packed with informative discussions and practical experience.
This weekend aims to give you a strong understanding of
• Hoof trimming and the skills to maintain your own horses’ hooves
• What makes a healthy & unhealthy hoof
• How you can have happy healthy and sound horses.
and the eye to recognise & treat common hoof pathologies.
This is a two-day workshop, you can attend one or both of the days (attendance at day one is a perquisite for attending day two).
Fee: $200 per Day
The weekend will include
• Discussion about research and experience
• Practical sessions
• Live trimming demonstrations
• Practice on cadaver hooves
• Dissections of cadaver hooves
• Observing biomechanics and their impact on hooves
• Keys to success
• Management of diet, environment, and exercise
• Boots and transitioning to barefoot
• Tool care and maintenance
We are both members of the Australian Certified Equine Hoofcare Practitioner (ACEHP) Leadership team.

Jacky Ynema: Has been working as an ACEHP trimmer since 2008. Her client base covers all of the South West and part of the Great Southern.

Her work includes maintenance, transitioning and rehabilitation trimming and management. She has had many success' where there has been little hope of recovery. Jacky also has extensive knowledge in Equine Nutrition.

Sandy Hall: I have been working in the South West as an ACEHP trimmer for the last two years. My work includes maintenance, transitioning and rehabilitation trimming and management. I am also a qualified Equine Sports Massage Therapist with a solid knowledge in Equine Bio-mechanics.

Both presenters’ own horses and have firsthand experience about sound equine management practices that maintain good hoof function.
